Risk and compliance.
How we control risk in our own trading, where we stand with regulators, and what visitors to this site should know.
How we control risk
Controls are built into the software, not left to individual judgment.
- Limits per strategy and for the firm on position size, exposure, margin use and daily loss.
- Pre-trade checks on every order for size, price sanity and order rate.
- Real-time monitoring of positions, orders, connectivity and latency, with alerts.
- Kill switch that halts a single strategy or all trading with one action.
- Staged rollout. New strategies start at small size and tight limits.
- Reconciliation of our records against broker and exchange records.
- Failure planning. We design for broker outages, data gaps and software faults, and decide in advance what the system does.

Important disclosures
Risk of loss
Trading in securities, futures, options and commodity derivatives involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. Leverage can magnify losses. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
Algorithmic trading
Automated systems can fail or behave unexpectedly because of software defects, data errors, loss of connectivity, exchange or broker outages, or market conditions unlike anything in the historical data.
